Executive Tempo 17 Seater Hire in Kochi: The Workhorse, Priced Per Seat
₹3,300 a day for seventeen seats is the best value in our fleet. Here is the per-seat maths, and the trip length where a 17 seater stops being comfortable.

If you want to know which vehicle in our fleet gives the most for the money, it is this one, and the reason is arithmetic rather than comfort.
Seventeen seats for ₹3,300 a day. Divide it and you get ₹194 a seat per day — the lowest per-seat rate in the fleet, below the Winger’s ₹217 and well under the 12 seater’s ₹250.
The per-seat maths
Here is the fleet side by side, per seat per day, before driver allowance:
- Winger 9/12 — ₹2,600 ÷ 12 seats = ₹217
- Executive 10 — ₹2,800 ÷ 10 = ₹280
- Executive 12 — ₹3,000 ÷ 12 = ₹250
- Executive 17 — ₹3,300 ÷ 17 = ₹194
- Executive 19 — ₹4,600 ÷ 19 = ₹242
- Executive 26 — ₹5,300 ÷ 26 = ₹204
The 17 seater wins. The rate jumps by only ₹300 over the 12 seater while the seat count rises by five.
That is not a pricing mistake. It is the vehicle class — a 17 seater is a common, competitive size in Kerala, and it is where the market sets its rate most keenly.
The 19 seater, meanwhile, is the weakest per-seat value in the fleet at ₹242, because you are paying ₹1,300 a day over the 17 for two more seats. More on that in its own guide.
Two cars or one van
For fifteen people, the alternative is two self-drive cars or two taxis. Put the numbers down.
Two cars: two drivers, two fuel bills, two parking spaces at every stop, and a permanent problem keeping both cars together on an unfamiliar hill road. And the person driving does not get to enjoy Munnar, because they are watching the road.
One 17 seater: ₹3,300 a day, one driver, one parking space, everyone together. Divided across fifteen people that is ₹220 a head per day before allowance.
The van wins on money and it wins much more decisively on the trip itself. A group that arrives together in one vehicle has a different day from a group that spends it waiting at junctions for the second car.
Where it stops being comfortable
The honest limit is fifteen passengers with holiday luggage. Seventeen seats and seventeen people with bags are two different things, and on anything beyond an overnight the last row becomes the bag store.
For four and five-day trips — Kovalam, Kanyakumari, Rameswaram — with fifteen or more people and real luggage, move up to the 19 or the 26. The daily saving is not worth four days of a cramped cabin.
For a one or two-night Munnar, Vagamon or Thekkady run with twelve to fifteen people, the 17 seater is exactly right and I would not sell you anything bigger.
What the 100 km a day actually covers
The allowance is 100 km per day, and that catches groups out on hill routes where the distance looks small on paper.
Work an example. Kochi to Munnar is 111 km from our Aluva garage, so the round trip is about 222 km. On a one-night, two-day booking you have 200 km included — so you finish roughly 22 km over, which is about ₹550 at ₹25/km.
Add a drive out to Top Station and back and you are further into it. Add Eravikulam and Mattupetty and it goes further still.
None of that is a hidden charge. It is simply that a 111 km one-way route is not a 200 km round trip, and a group that plans local running on top of it should expect to pay for the extra. Tell us your itinerary when we quote and we will estimate the real number rather than the package number.
For the shorter routes it never comes up. Alleppey at 76 km and Vagamon at 95 km both fit inside 200 km on a two-day booking with room to spare.
What it costs
- 1 Night / 2 Days — ₹6,600, 200 km included
- 2 Nights / 3 Days — ₹9,900, 300 km included
100 km included per day, counted from the garage and back. Extra km is ₹25. Driver allowance is ₹700 per day extra. Tolls and parking inside Kerala are free.

Common questions
- How many people fit in a 17 seater tempo traveller?
- Seventeen seats. With luggage for a hill trip, plan on fifteen comfortably — the last row often takes bags.
- What does a 17 seater tempo traveller cost in Kochi?
- ₹3,300 per day with 100 km included per day. A 1 night / 2 day package is ₹6,600, extra km is ₹25, and driver allowance is ₹700 per day extra.
- Is a 17 seater cheaper than two cars?
- Almost always. Two self-drive cars need two drivers, two fuel bills and two parking spaces; one 17 seater is ₹3,300 a day and keeps the group together.
- Is a 17 or 19 seater better for fifteen people?
- Fifteen people fit a 17 seater. If the group is fifteen with heavy luggage, or the trip is long, the 19 seater at ₹4,600 a day gives noticeably more room — but it is ₹1,300 a day more.
