Executive Tempo 19 Seater Hire in Kochi: Why This One Costs ₹1,300 More
The 19 seater is ₹4,600 a day against ₹3,300 for the 17. Two extra seats, one big price gap. Here is when the gap is worth paying and when it is not.

There is a question groups ask about this vehicle every time, and it is a fair one: why is the 19 seater ₹1,300 a day more than the 17 seater for two extra seats?
₹4,600 against ₹3,300. That is not a rounding difference. If you were paying per seat, two more seats should cost about ₹390, not ₹1,300.
The answer is that you are not buying seats. You are buying space, and on long trips space is the thing that runs out first.
What the money actually buys
Per seat per day, this is the weakest value in our fleet:
₹4,600 ÷ 19 = ₹242 a seat.
Compare that to the 17 seater at ₹194 a seat. On a headcount basis, you are paying 25% more per person.
What you get for it is a cabin that holds nineteen people and their luggage without anyone sitting with a bag on their lap. On a two-day Munnar trip that is a nicety. On a five-day Kanyakumari run with fifteen people and full holiday luggage, it is the difference between a pleasant trip and a bad one.
That is the honest case for the 19: it is a luggage and comfort vehicle, not a capacity vehicle.
When to pay it
Long trips. Anything four days or more — Kovalam, Kodaikanal, Kanyakumari, Rameswaram. Over five days the ₹1,300 daily gap is ₹6,500, which is real money, but so is the comfort across a 300 km road day.
Fifteen or more with heavy luggage. This is the clearest case. The 17 seater’s last row becomes a bag shelf; the 19 seater’s does not have to.
Groups with elderly passengers. More room to move, more space to stretch a knee on a long day. Worth mentioning when you book, because it changes the recommendation.
When not to
A one or two-night trip with twelve people and light bags. Book the 17 seater and keep the ₹1,300 a day. You will not notice the difference over 200 km.
Any group under sixteen. Unless the luggage is exceptional, you are buying space you will not use.
If you are going back and forth on this, here is the rule I would give a friend: look at the number of days, not the number of people. Short trip, small group — 17. Long trip, full group — 19.
Sixteen people, two ways to seat them
Take a concrete group: sixteen people, four days to Kovalam, normal holiday luggage.
In the 17 seater at ₹3,300 a day, all seventeen seats are gone and one is spare. Sixteen people plus bags means the spare seat holds luggage, and the back row carries both people and whatever will not fit. The trip is ₹9,900 in rate for three nights, plus ₹2,100 allowance.
In the 19 seater at ₹4,600 a day, sixteen people occupy sixteen seats and three seats remain — enough that the luggage stays off the seats entirely and everyone has room. The same trip is ₹13,800 in rate, plus the same ₹2,100 allowance.
The difference is ₹3,900 across the trip, or about ₹245 per person. What that buys is a cabin where nobody is sitting with a bag on their lap for four days of Kerala coast road.
For some groups that is obviously worth it. For others it is obviously not, and both answers are reasonable — but the number should be on the table before you choose rather than after.
What it costs
- 1 Night / 2 Days — ₹9,200, 200 km included
- 2 Nights / 3 Days — ₹13,800, 300 km included
100 km included per day, billed garage to garage. Extra km is ₹28. Driver allowance is ₹700 per day extra. Tolls and parking inside Kerala are free.
Over a five-day trip the daily gap against the 17 seater compounds to ₹6,500, which is why the case for the upgrade has to be about the trip, not the price.

Common questions
- Why is a 19 seater so much more than a 17 seater?
- It is ₹1,300 a day more — ₹4,600 against ₹3,300. Two extra seats do not explain the gap; the extra space and the seating layout do. Whether that is worth it depends on your luggage, not your headcount.
- What does a 19 seater tempo traveller cost in Kochi?
- ₹4,600 per day with 100 km included per day. A 1 night / 2 day package is ₹9,200, extra km is ₹28, and driver allowance is ₹700 per day extra.
- Should I book a 17 or 19 seater for sixteen people?
- Sixteen people fit the 17 seater. Take the 19 only if the luggage is heavy or the trip is long — it is ₹1,300 a day more for room, not seats.
- Is the 19 seater good value?
- Per seat it is the weakest value in our fleet at ₹242 a seat per day. It earns its rate on comfort and luggage space for longer trips, not on headcount.
