Executive Tempo 26 Seater Hire in Kochi: When It Beats Booking Two Vans
At ₹5,300 a day the 26 seater replaces two 17 seaters and saves ₹1,300 a day. It is also the closest thing we run to a bus — with a bus's limits on hill roads.

Past about twenty people, groups start thinking about two vans. For a lot of them, one 26 seater is the better answer, and the reason is arithmetic before it is anything else.
One 26 seater: ₹5,300 a day. Two 17 seaters: ₹6,600 a day. That is ₹1,300 a day saved, and it comes with one driver, one parking space and one vehicle to keep track of instead of two.
Over a three-day trip the saving is ₹3,900. That is not a rounding error.
The two-van problem
Two vehicles sounds simple. It is not.
Two vans means two drivers on two different rest schedules. It means the lead van stops at a viewpoint and the second misses the turn. It means two parking spaces at every crowded stop in a hill town, and Munnar in season has none to spare. It means a headcount problem every time the group moves: you have to count two vehicles, not one.
It also means that on any given day, one van is ahead and one is behind, and the group spends the trip as two groups.
One 26 seater removes all of that. It is one group, one vehicle, one plan.
It is bus-shaped, and that matters
Be clear about what this vehicle is: a minibus. It has a proper aisle, a higher seating position, and far more luggage volume than any of our smaller vans. For a corporate group or a large family it is comfortable in a way a 17 seater cannot be.
It also behaves like a bus on a hill road.
On the Munnar ghat after Adimali, or the climb towards Thekkady, a 26 seater takes the hairpins slowly. Not dangerously — we run it — but slowly, and a trip that takes four hours in a 17 seater may take four and a half or five. If your itinerary is tight, that matters.
For the coastal routes — Alleppey, Varkala, Kovalam — the size is no penalty at all. It is highway the whole way.
When to book it
Twenty or more people. One vehicle beats two, on money and on everything else.
Corporate groups of twenty-plus. One van, one headcount, one invoice, no convoy.
Pilgrim groups. The 26 seater seats a large group together, and pilgrimage groups fragment easily when split across vehicles.
Wedding guest movement. One vehicle for the wider family, with luggage volume to spare.
When not to
Fifteen people on a hill trip. Book the 17 seater at ₹3,300 and save ₹2,000 a day. The 26 seater would be half empty.
A tight itinerary with a ghat climb. The slower pace on the hairpins is the trade.
Boarding a vehicle this size takes time
One practical cost of a minibus that nobody warns you about: everything takes longer at the kerb.
Twenty-six people do not board in two minutes. Loading a full group with luggage is realistically ten to fifteen minutes at the start of a day and again at each hotel. A stop that a 12 seater turns around in five minutes takes three times as long.
That matters on an itinerary with a lot packed into it. Build the slack in, and pick fewer stops rather than more. A 26 seater group that tries to do six things in a day will do four of them and rush the rest.
Parking is the other consideration. A minibus needs a proper bay, and hill towns like Munnar and Thekkady have very few of them in season. Your driver will often drop the group and park further out — tell your group where the pickup point is before they scatter, because the vehicle will not be where they left it.

Common questions
- How many people fit in a 26 seater tempo traveller?
- Twenty-six seats. With holiday luggage, plan on twenty-two to twenty-four comfortably.
- What does a 26 seater tempo traveller cost in Kochi?
- ₹5,300 per day with 100 km included per day. A 1 night / 2 day package is ₹10,600, extra km is ₹30, and driver allowance is ₹700 per day extra.
- Is one 26 seater cheaper than two 17 seaters?
- Yes. Two 17 seaters cost ₹6,600 a day against ₹5,300 for one 26 seater — a saving of ₹1,300 a day, plus one driver and one parking space instead of two.
- Can a 26 seater manage the Munnar hill road?
- It can, and we run it, but a large vehicle on the ghat section after Adimali takes the hairpins slowly. It is a slower day than the same trip in a 17 seater.
