Corporate Team Outing from Kochi: Tempo Traveller Logistics That Actually Work
One pickup point, one return time, one invoice. How offices run a team outing to Munnar or Thekkady in a tempo traveller without losing anyone.

A team outing is not a holiday with colleagues. It is a small logistics operation, and the transport is where most of them quietly fail.
The failure is always the same. Two cars, one leaves late, half the team arrives forty minutes after the other half, and the whole day runs on a split schedule. A driver cannot find a rural resort on the first attempt. Somebody has to leave early and there is no vehicle to take them.
A tempo traveller removes most of those failure points in one decision. Here is how offices use them well.
One vehicle, one plan
The case for a single van is not comfort. It is that the group stays a group.
Everyone leaves at the same time from the same place. Everyone arrives together. Nobody is waiting at a junction for a car that took a wrong turn. When the schedule slips — and it will — it slips for everyone at once, which is much easier to manage than half the team being an hour ahead.
For a team of 15 to 20, a 17 or 19 seater keeps the whole office in one vehicle. Above 26 you are looking at two vans, and at that point it is worth designating a lead vehicle and a person in each van responsible for headcounts.
Pick a destination that fits the day
Munnar is 111 km from our Aluva garage, which makes it a genuine overnight or a very long day trip. For an outing with activities planned, overnight is the honest choice.
Vagamon is 95 km, quieter, and works better as a single-day outing because the sights are close together and there is no queue.
Alleppey at 76 km is the shortest run and suits a half-day outing with a houseboat or a backwater trip, though the boat is a separate booking.
Choose the destination around the time you actually have, not the other way round. An office that books Munnar for a day outing spends six of its eight hours in the van.
What it costs
Package rates are per vehicle per day, garage to garage:
- 17 seater — ₹3,300 per day, 100 km included per day
- 19 seater — ₹4,600 per day
- 26 seater — ₹5,300 per day
Driver allowance is ₹700 per day extra. Tolls and parking inside Kerala are free.
For a company, the useful comparison is per head. A 17 seater at ₹3,300 for a day is roughly ₹194 a head across seventeen people, before allowance. That is usually less than the per-head cost of the cabs and self-drive cars an office would otherwise arrange, and it comes with no parking problem and no designated-driver conversation.
The things that go wrong
Late departures. Fix a departure time and mean it. A van waiting outside the office while two people finish a call costs the group, not the van.
The return time. Agree it in advance and stick to it. The one thing a driver cannot do is wait indefinitely at midnight in a hill station. If there is a chance the group splits, book the van for the longer duration and tell us.
Headcounts. On two vans, count before every departure. It sounds trivial until a team leaves someone at a viewpoint.
Alcohol and hill roads. Say plainly whether the outing includes drinking. The driver’s job on the return is to get everyone home safely, and it is better that they know what they are managing.
Invoicing and paperwork
Corporate bookings are invoiced to the company, not to the individual who called. Give us the registered name, the GST number and any purchase-order reference when you book, and the invoice comes out correctly the first time.
For offices that need a vendor registration or a signed agreement before travel, tell us early. It is a routine request and easier to handle before the outing than the week after.
Booking
Tell us the number of people, the destination, the date and the company invoicing details, and we will quote the vehicle — one van or two — with the kilometre allowance and allowance clearly laid out.

Common questions
- Do you provide a GST invoice for corporate bookings?
- Yes. Tell us the company name and GST number at the booking stage and we will raise the invoice to the company rather than to an individual.
- How many employees fit in one tempo traveller?
- Up to 26 in a single van. Most offices of 15 to 20 take a 17 or 19 seater, which keeps the whole team in one vehicle and one conversation.
- Can the driver wait all day at the resort?
- Yes. On a package the van and driver stay with the group for the duration. That is the point of a package for an outing — nobody is calling for a cab at midnight.
- What is the rate for a corporate team outing?
- It is the standard package rate per vehicle per day — ₹3,300 for a 17 seater with 100 km included per day, driver allowance ₹700 per day extra. Longer trips and multiple vans are quoted together.
